Since 1983, MONDOMED has developed and manufactured medical devices in Hamont-Achel. What began as a specialist manufacturer has grown into an international partner for the medical sector. Today, our products reach customers all over the world.
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) foam is the common thread running through MONDOMED’s story. At our own production facility, we shape this material into hundreds of medical applications. From immobilisation splints to absorbent wound care products, PVA foam is the foundation of a broad and continually evolving product range.
From manufacturing to international expertise
An important chapter in MONDOMED’s history began with Pasquale Cimmino. He started out in production more than 40 years ago and gradually built up his expertise and responsibilities within the company. Today, he leads MONDOMED as CEO, with a clear vision:

Over the years, not only has the number of applications grown, but so has the knowledge required to process PVA foam into medical devices. This demands in-depth expertise in both manufacturing processes and regulation. Because our products are used in and on the human body, quality, reliability and safety are central to every step.

New developments often begin with a specific customer question or need. By staying close to developments in the medical sector and working proactively with our customers, we keep looking for solutions that deliver practical value.
We build on our own research & development and on collaborations with universities, consultants and other experts. This combination of knowledge and experience helps us explore new technologies and continuously improve our products.
From Hamont-Achel to the world
Although our manufacturing is firmly rooted in Hamont-Achel, our outlook extends far beyond Belgium. MONDOMED is active in several European countries and serves customers in all over the world.
At the same time, we are looking to new markets, including the United States, South America, Canada and other parts of Asia. This international growth requires continued investment in sales, marketing, technology and product development. In this way, we continue to expand our international presence and develop new PVA foam applications.
